alabama arkansas

it's weird to think that this is where i live.
this is my home.
it feels like i've lived in logan for years.
it's home.

i love my family.
it's just weird that i don't live THERE, with them anymore.

today was my first day of crossfit kickboxing.
it's a credit i'm taking
and it KICKS MY BUTT.
i love it.
i'm still sweating and it was like three hours ago

kidding, but serious.

last night i ran to walmart to do my second grocery shopping trip since i've been here.
it's fun that almost everyone there is a college student.
it's a great atmosphere.
.....not walmart, just this whole place.

enjoy my favorite song at the moment..
it's been on repeat for twenty four hours.

also,
let me tell you about marianne.

i love her.
she's the one i met at my leadership conference.
i'm so grateful to have met such a wonderful friend.
she is just like me in soooooo many ways.
we have talked about anything and everything.
we tell the same stories of our lives, just with different names.

we laugh about EVERYTHING.
sometimes we're annoying.
but most of the time, just hilarious.
i can't breathe i get laughing so hard.

but she also helps me realize what's important in life.
she has my same values.
she has my same thoughts about life,
and leaves places with me when i don't feel like being there.
pretty much, she's great.

this is love.

today was the greatest day EVER.
seriously, so fun.

it was the first day of classes, and i prefer college without them.
but whatever.
it went really well, minus the math professor that speaks no ounce of english.
i'll struggle.

it's nice, because all my classes are on monday, wednesday, and friday
and tuesdays i just have one class in the late afternoon.
it's a party all night long.

after classes today i bought my books.
cried a bit.

then i came back and hung out with brynne and matti.
love them.
we got aggie ice cream and came back to our place to meet lots of people.
met a cute boy.
love him.
love him lots.

we also went to a bbq and had a blast there.
i'm meeting so many loveable people.

the best part of the night was the CONCERT.

i went with brynne and matti and we met the CUTEST boys.
so adorable, and older, which i love more than anything.
tall, too.
big plus.

since they're bigger than us, they helped us push our way up to the very front.
we were screaming, sweating like crazy, dancing, and having a blast.
we're getting really good at this mosh pit stuff.
the lead singer even touched my hand, and surfed above my head.
so fun.

at the end, he gave me a hug.
full on embrace.
we were all high on life.
so we came back to our place and went hot tubbing.
well, not the lead singer, although that would have been cool.

you could say i'm in love.

with life.

here's a novel for you.

helllllllllllllllo everyone!!!!

i've heard from so many of my great friends/family in Salt Lake.
i love you all.

my apologies for not getting back to all of you in a timely manner. you know, this college life
is craaazaaay.

but really, i've been extremely busy.
i'll give you all an update of my wonderful life:

i moved up here (logan) on saturday.
i stayed up extremely late on friday night saying goodbyes, packing my room at the last minute,
and having a sleepover with sabrina.

the drive to logan was wonderful. fido successfully made it up logan canyon,
which i was pleased about :)
i sang to maroon 5 and adele the whole two hours.
loved every minute.

my mother, dad, and peter all followed me up, and helped me unpack.

look at my cute room:

i love it.
i just need to figure out a way to keep it clean...

on sunday i went to church.
i can proudly say i went all by myself, and stayed for the whole
3 HOURS.
that's impressive for me.

i met people there, and felt great that i was finally living in this city.

monday i attended AggieBlue Leadership Conference.
It's pretty much a two day "camp" that teaches you to further expand leadership qualities and learn more about yourself.
i made many friends, and had a great time.

i took from it many positive lessons, and will share a few with you.

"YOU are contagious. Be POSITIVELY contagious."-Brad Barton

It's a myth that you need to work on weaknesses you may have in your life. If you hate to do something, don't do it! Focus on expanding and really working on your strengths. Be strong with your strengths.  Partner up with people who are strong where you are weak.

i met some wonderful people at this conference. Many of whom I am certain will remain my close friends.

this is my friend, Hope, and I on a farm for a service project.
we did manual labor to help people prepare and set-up for a carnival that is done in logan every fall.
i realized that i really don't like lifting things, and doing work with THINGS, rather than PEOPLE.
but it was still a great experience.

I'd like you to meet my friends:

aubree, christina, tori, kami, and marianne.

aubree lives in the apartment below me. I met her as she was running up the stairs one night. i had no idea she even lived here, but we exchanged numbers and met up that night. i stayed in her room for two hours talking. we are the same person. we have so much in common, it was really freaking me out. she was on cheer just like me. she's loud.....you all know the comparison.
i left feeling like i had known her for years.

christina lives a few buildings over from me, and is aubree's good friend, and due to the fact that aubree and i are the same, now christina is my good friend, too. we have the same life in many ways. christina sat up with me all night writing papers that we both procrastinated.

marianne lives on campus and i met her at my leadership conference. we both have very similar views on dating and wanting MEN, not BOYS. we just crack jokes left and right, and it's great that someone appreciates and understands my humor.

tori and kami live in another apartment complex. they're both really great and hilarious. i'm still learning so much about their great personalities. i love them both, and they make me laugh.

we decided we would have dinners together. especially sunday dinners. the picture above is our first dinner together. christina and i made it, and it was great. we started this great night laughing at everything.

we went laser tagging that night. we thought we would dominate everyone, but we ended up running around in circles, screaming, and got out in two seconds.
we gave it a good run.

we then went to the dance. we had a REALLY great time. we got trampled on, broke our jewelry, lost accessories, and i even got head-butted. my eye swelled up and my gum/lip was sliced open.
it was quite the adventure.

but we had such a fun time dancing and being crazy.

before:

after:

hahahahhahhahaahh.

you could say i'm having a blast. that would be an understatement.
i've only been here five days, but it seems like i'm right at home.
i'm so blessed to have met so many people these first few days.
i know there are so many more to meet.

we have lots of fun activities ahead of us.

i love you all.

xoxo.

beauty in living

"Make it a habit to tell people thank you.  To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return.  Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you.  Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it."-  Ralph Marston
