family time.

today i made the drive from logan to salt lake.
by myself.

i bought a bag of beef jerky and turned my music up loud.

it was a good time.

my grandpa just passed away.
he was a truly remarkable man that i admire in so many ways.
i am happy that he gets to be with my grandma again.

tonight was his viewing.
it was nice to see a lot of people that i haven't seen in a while.
it was fun to catch up with my cousin, austin,
who recently returned from a mission in Ghana, Africa.

i forgot how much he makes me laugh.

i want austin to hook me up with one of his friends that i know in logan.

cross your fingers.

look how cute my siblings are.

i can't get over how adorable peter is in those glasses.
he just got them, and i think he's so classy-looking.

i need glasses.
i won't look so classy, but that's why contacts are such a great invention.

tomorrow i will be attending a funeral.
i don't like funerals so much,
but it is a nice reminder on how precious life is.
how wonderful every person truly is..

litter.

i am sitting in my bed laughing right now.
i have to document this awkard story.

i'm standing in line at cafe rio
for taco tuesday.

and i'm eating skittles
(from trick-or-treating yesterday).
i accidentally drop one on the floor.
normally, i probably...might have picked it up.
but i just was not in the mood to reach down and get it.

lazy much?

so i just stared at it for probably a good seven seconds.

and then i proceeded to kick it under the counter.
but there was nothing for it to go under.
it bounced right back to me.

then i hear this guy say from behind me:
"you dropped your skittle.
and then you tried to hide it under the counter."

yupppppp.
i know, thank you.

i need to be better about things like:
the environment and
putting myself in awkward situations.

i promise i recycle and care about the earth.
sometimes i'm just lazy, okay?

it's a wonderful life.

sometimes,
things don't go as planned.

but i've realized that my "plan" isn't
THE
plan.

sometimes the things i don't plan on happening
are the greatest blessings in disguise.

when i moved up to logan,
i thought i had everything planned out the way it was going to go.

i never thought my mom would get cancer.

that was never a part of
the
my
 plans.

but you know what,
i think there's a very important reason she has it.
i don't necessarily know exactly
why
..right now.
and i may not know what that reason is for a long time.
but i'm confident that there
 IS
 a very important reason.

what i do know
is that my family is the greatest blessing in my entire life.
i know that i am so fortunate to have such a close relationship with all my siblings
and my parents.

i do know that i think there's a reason why i'm here at utah state while this is happening.
i'm grateful to have so many friends.

i know that there are hard things that happen in life,
but that doesn't make life
ITSELF
hard.
i think life is the greatest blessing and journey.
life is wonderful.

sometimes people expect me to be sad
because apparantely my life isn't "ideal"
right now.

it makes me frustrated that
some people
think it's necessary to be living a more sad version of my normal, happy life
because of certain circumstances.

because you know what,
life is incredibly wonderful to me.
i love every single day i have.
and that's no facade.
yeah, there are difficult things.
everyone has them.
EVERYONE.

but i think the key to happiness is recognizing all the wonderful things in life.
i don't have time to be sad.
i don't have time to think "wo is me."
nor do i want to.

why would i waste time doing that?

i am so lucky.
i am so blessed.

i have the most wonderful people in my life.
seriously.

and i think my life is one of the best.

and i'd argue anyone that wants to tell me otherwise :)

think of all the things that make you happy.

xoxo

it's raining right now.

i thought i learned some valuable lessons on time management
while i was without my laptop.

but here it is,
2:21 am
and i'm wasting time on the internet.

doing pointless crap, really.

and taking pictures just because i can.

these are mainly to remind me that i never want to do this again.
i don't want to stay up doing things i don't need to be doing.

and look like this ^^^^^^

oh.
i just remembered a really embarrassing story
of something that happened tonight.
christina and i were sitting in the hot tub.
a few guys came in.
one of them was wearing sunglasses.
it was like ten p.m.
pitch black.
and so i'm thinking "seriously, take off those dumb glasses. it's not funny."
so i just look at him and say, "nice sunglasses?"
and he just says "thanks."
his friends goes, "he's actually blind."

if that doesn't make you feel so bad, i don't know what does.
i wanted to sink under the water and hide there for a while.
it's like a 1 out of 358325 chance that he was blind,
but HE WAS!

now i'm going to keep my sarcastic comments to myself.

peace. out.

trick or treat

I HAVE TEARS IN MY EYES.
I HAVE MY COMPUTER BACK AFTER
THRE WHOLE WEEKS.

I HAD THE BIGGEST SMILE ON MY FACE WHEN THE GUY AT UPS HANDED IT OVER TO ME.
i had to drive like ten miles to retrieve it, but i didn't even care.
i'm so happy.
so happy.
so so so
so happy.

see.
this is my excited face picture taken from my OWN COMPUTER.
now i can finally upload pictures on my blog again.
the world is back in order.

tonight christina and i went trick-or-treating.
well...
actually,
she went trick or treating.
she's 5'2 and we decided she could pass for a little tween.
we threw a white sheet over her head and made her into a ghost.

it was freaking hilarious watching from my car
as she walked up to everyone's house by HERSELF.
i seriously was laughing soooooo hard.
she looked like a little kid,
and the things people said to her were hilarious.
"what a cute little ghost-y you are!"

the only instructions i gave her:
"whatever you do, take at least two pieces of candy."

we did pretty well.

happy halloween!!!!

....that was not a girl.

i haven't updated in a very long time.
i blame it on me not having a computer.
although
i found out that it is being delivered to my apartment at 4:30 pm
TOMORROW!!!!!
yayyyyyy
i could not be more excited to have it back.
i think there's a little bit of some emotional attachment with my lil' guy.

today brynne, mady, and callie left to go home to salt lake.
who goes back to salt lake for halloween?
weird.
just kidding, i just really miss them already.
maybe i would have considered going back with them, but i will be going home on wednesday for a funeral.
two trips in one week is just a little too much salt lake time for me.
plus,
i like it up here.
i want to make new traditions in my new home.
it's exciting.

moving on.
last night was the HOWL.
it was soooooo much different than i anticipated.
for those of you that aren't familiar with what the HOWL is, it's a big halloween dance that utah state puts on.
people from other colleges come to it because it's supposedly really fun.
i had a really great time.
it was just different than i planned on it being.
i held a snake.
didn't love it.
and danced my heart away for a good three hours.
met some creepers.
met some cuties.
had a girl full on dancing on me,
and i didn't realize it was a girl.
but it was.
and i was extremely grossed out.
had some funny experiences.

you could say i had a fun night.

now i'm sitting in the library trying to figure out what i want to do with my life today.

have a wonderful sunday.
